DeepNines Hires Former Extreme Networks Executive Jim Binder as New VP of Engineering
Addition of Binder further strengthens solid executive teamDALLAS, TEXAS - In an effort to strengthen an already solid executive team, DeepNines Technologies has hired James S. Binder as vice president of engineering. Binder joins DeepNines after serving as senior engineering director of the LAN access business unit at Extreme Networks.

As vice president of engineering for DeepNines, Binder will be based at the company's research and development center in San Diego, Calif., where he will guide the development of the DeepNines road map for the Security Edge Platform. Previously the senior engineering director at Extreme Networks, Binder was responsible for product development architecture strategies and led a development team to deliver patented technologies in a highly competitive market.
Binder also served as vice president of engineering at Bytemobile Inc., where he was responsible for the rapid growth and success of the engineering department. Binder also served as vice president of software engineering with Nexsi Systems Corporation, where he led the software development team whose release won "Best-in-Show" honors at the 2001 Networld/Interop show for its ability to route application data and speed up Internet connections. As holder of four U.S. patents and a participant in IETF and IEEE standards working groups, he also held multiple director positions and completed numerous software development projects during his 11-year tenure at 3Com Corporation.
