DeepNines iTrust is Selected by High Tech-Driven Private School
John Paul II High School Deploys DeepNines iTrust to Protect Its Technically Savvy Student Body
DALLAS, TX - DeepNines Technologies, the leader in integrated security solutions designed to actively control emerging Internet threats, today announced that their iTrust security platform was selected by John Paul II High School, a coeducational Catholic college preparatory school located in Plano, Texas.
“John Paul II High School prides itself on its in-depth knowledge of technology and how it uses technology to enhance its superior curriculum,” said Tom Knight, vice president of sales at DeepNines Technologies. “Being selected by such a technologically advanced school further validates our leadership in delivering an all-encompassing security platform that schools can depend on,” added Knight.
John Paul II High School has a diverse body of educators that are committed to providing students with the most up-to-date technology available. The school prides itself on the many innovative ways that their students and faculty utilize computers and multimedia for learning. The faculty integrates technology into all facets of academic life. Students can access class notes and assignments that teachers post directly to the school’s online network; additionally parents can access their child's grades and assignments online enabling them to assist in their child's academic development.
“We're proud of our technological progress and understand that technology can improve the education and enrich the learning experience of our students,” said Roger Wise, director of technology at John Paul II High School.
John Paul II High School recently launched a laptop program which provides students with a laptop and access to a campus-wide wireless network through their enrollment at the school. This program forced the school to revisit their existing security infrastructure to ensure that they were managing Internet access and enforcing their acceptable use policies. John Paul II High School enlisted the help of DeepNines by participating in the DeepNines Internet Content Audit (ICA) program in order to get complete network visibility and insight into their Internet traffic. Upon completion of the ICA program, iTrust provided them with the evidence they needed to make the switch to DeepNines.
“Giving students access to Internet was necessary to allow them to truly benefit from our technology-oriented curriculum, however Internet access comes with an added layer of risk,” said Kristopher Thurston, technical specialist. “With DeepNines iTrust in place as a barrier between our students and the Internet, we are now confident that our students have access to all the good educational content available to them while keeping unsuitable content and applications out.”
